Also located in the suburb of Vouliagmeni, Kavouri is actually a pine-tree covered peninsula studded with expensive villas. There are several sandy stretches where one can swim although the most popular is Megalo Kavouri towards the tip of the western coast which is organised, with sunbeds for rent.
On the eastern coast, Mikro Kavouri is more natural and unorganised, with open views over the bay. The pine trees extend right to the water's edge, providing welcome shade on hot summer days and filling the air with their distinctive scent.
The coastal path around the peninsula is good for a walk or a run before a swim, with views over the Saronic Gulf on one side and the luxury villas of Vouliagmeni on the other. Fresh seafood restaurants line the road back towards the town centre.
